Friday Bibles and Scholars: On Friday we visited some of our scholars at the school in Colonia Pedroza. Pictures of those scholars in a group are above this post. In addition we finished passing out the last of 4000 Bibles that were brought to Honduras through Brians inititive. Early in the week We gave 500 Bibles to the Prison in San Pedro Sula and 500 to the Prison in La Ceiba. We gave another 500 to an extremely Evangelistic Group. Today we loaded up our truck and parked in front of the Parque Central and gave away approximately 3200 Bibles over a period of 30 minutes. It is amazing how hungry the Honduras are for the word.
The Pictures for this post are
immediately below.
On Wednesday nite we had dinner at the home of Romain and Marie Elena, our friends who take us to the mountain. We had a real treat for dinner, ceviche with yucca and crisp fried green platinos.
On Thursday we traveled at 5:00 A.M. in the morning to Quis Camote, the Village of Indians in the Mountians. We ate breakfast at a small rustic cafe in the mountains where cooking is still done over wood and the coffee is boiled in a pan and then the grounds are strained out. We took about 3000 lbs of food and distributed it to the families and we also took some clothing and shoes. Stan played carry out boy and helped elderly ladies get the food home. Steve, Stan Paul and Bill got busy dividing up rice, beans and corn flour along with soup and pasta and several other food items. Sherry, Brenda and Kathy handed out clothing and shoes and spent time with the children.

Bernie, Stan, Jim, myself, and our interpreter Robert spent the last few days helping Pastor Oscar and his wife Glenda to build classrooms for their church. They are a wonderful loving family and were very hospitable to us. We tasted many wonderful local Honduran foods and drinks. Our foreman, Osman was very patient with us as he taught us about masonry. The village of Siguaeteque was beautiful and peaceful and the people were very friendly to us. There is still much work to be done on the construction site, but we helped them to get a good start on the job. We have been blessed to serve in the name Jesus here and I know that each of us have been touched by their generosity and their love for Jesus. We'll see everyone soon and will share more amazing stories from Honduras!

Power of Prayer
Ola to all you Gringas back home (forgive me, my spelling is as bad as my spanish) Today we went to drop off the boys in "Saywattapecka" to help build an addition to Oscars church. But on our way there we stopped at an orphanage Destino del Reino ran by a wonderfully inspiring lady named Rhonda, God has built for them 2 homes, church, and a school (see pic above) and are in the progress of building a medical building. Her stories of miracles and the power of how God is answering all of their prayers is an inspiration to all of us and we can see what kind of difference ministries like Feed my sheep can do with Gods help. We also stopped by Vida y libertad another orphanage that cares for 30 ninos and I have to say this was a very emotional stop for me. When I looked at these children's smiling faces I could also see the longing in their eyes for parents that can not support them. The longing of what it must feel like to be loved and held only the way a father/mother can do. I know that these children's basic need are only barely being met and with the donations slipping away slowly from Vida y libertad the true need is to be witnessing to them to show them that they do have that agape love in Christ and that he is the way to true happiness and the end of their suffering. I am so excited to do the medical clinic for the next 2 days. More ninos to hold and to love and more opportunities for God to do his work. This trip has been a roller coaster of emotions and an experience I never dreamed of. Blessing to all of you back home........PRAY PRAY PRAY God gives what need, if only we ask. Love to all Kathy Johnson
Sunday April 27, 2008 Feeding Station and Bordo
On Saturday the team all arrived safely on anxious to get on with the a trip. We ate at Peco's Bills and made our last trip to the airport late of Steve and Jim.
After Church at the Reformada Central on Sunday we visited our feeding project in San Pedro Sula and later we went to Colonial Las Vegas to visit Eduardo and Louiscito and to distribute candy and of few small toys amoung the other children or the area. I have a lot of wonderful pictures of children and our group, but the computer hookup is to weak this morning to download and unfortunately the pictures will tell you a much better story than I can. The poverty is difficult to deal with and as usual it has affected the team members deeply. Last night during our devotion time we dealt with why in God's plan some seem chooses to have so little when we have so much. I will add pictures when it becomes possible.
This is early monday and we are getting ready to leave for siguatepeque to leave Steve, Jim, Bernie and Stan to work on the construction project.

Friday Morning April 25,2008
Bernie and I have been in San Pedro Sula since about noon on Wednesday. We have arranged for vehicles and will picking the team up tomorrow at the airport from 4 different flights. We have purchased the food that we will take to the mountain village and it will be delivered to the Hotel where it will be stored until we go. The food came to just short of 4000 lbs. We purchased soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, soap and more rice and beans that will be distributed in bags to our scholars when we meet with them. The 4000 thousand Bibles were in the Hotel when we arrived and Bernie and I gave 500 of them to a ministry that was going to the men's prison here in town where they will be given to inmates. Last nite we took Rosa, Eduardo and Louiscito (The Safarians Honduras family) to Dinner at the Boys favorite place Popeyes, where the boys played in the playground with Fast Edy and Emy's Kids Raquel and Jonathan. We are looking forward to the team arriving tomorrow.

Great News and Getting Ready to Leave
HI everyone,
I am excited about heading out to San Pedro Sula this week. It seems like arrangements went too easy this trip, everything fell into place with the final piece falling just this morning. Roberto Grego has agreed to go to Siguatepeque with the construction team from Monday to Wednesday. The 4,000 Bibles arrived at the hotel today. Oscar has the construction material and Edy is going to pick up Bernie and I from the Airport. Bernie and I are going to have dinner with Romain (the man who takes us to the mountain) on Thursday and the Lawyer just told me that the Honduran Non profit church corporation is finally in place.

Santa Biblia - Help Wanted
With the April Mission Trip coming up, we are are looking for some help with the Santa Biblia Project. For those who are unaware of the project, God laid a plan on Brian Safarian's heart, a plan to put a Spanish Bible in the hands of those we minister to while on the Feed My Sheep Ministry Mission Trips in Honduras. With several obstacles in the way of the plan, God showed up in circumstances and chance meetings, well let's just say God is getting it done. The only thing left for us to do is raise the funds, God took care of the supply source, the truck, the driver, the storage... and many more details, we just need to raise the funds.
Last fall Brian was able to raise the money needed to have 4,000 Spanish Bibles ready when got there to hand out to all who asked for one. For those of us who had the privilege to hand out God's Word to the people of Honduras, the experience is something that is hard to explain. One thing that can be said is that they wanted the Bibles, they went so quickly, it was if we were giving them the very breathe of life.
If you would like to contribute to this project your donations would be greatly appreciated. You can make a tax deductible donation to Feed My Sheep Ministry in any amount. The funds will be pooled together in the hopes that we will be able to ship 4,000 Bibles to Honduras for the April trip.
Preparations Are Under Way!!

Preparations are being made for the April Trip 2008 to Honduras. The team's schedule for this trip is a full one. The plans include holding 2 medical clinics, completing a building project, visiting 2 orphanages, and passing out 4,000 Spanish Bibles.
